• Execute an application on any number of virtual machines
• Take snapshots of all your virtual machines with ease
• Check your virtual machines for an application or service / daemon that should be running
• Collect screenshots of all your virtual machines
• Simultaneously launch a utility virtual machine and/or application across all your servers
• Defragment and shrink all your virtual disks
• Check and attempt to repair virtual disks that have been corrupted
• Effortlessly expand your virtual disks that are getting full
• Etc.
The Personal Edition of vmCLIpboard supports the VMware VIX API and VMware Virtual Disk Development Kit. The Enterprise Edition of vmCLIpboard will add support for the VMware Open Virtualization Format Tool and VMware vSphere Command-Line Interface.
vmCLIpboard will be available in three Editions:
- The Personal Edition of vmCLIpboard is free. It’s limited to building commands for one virtual machine at a time and intended for hobbyists, those interested in learning the VMware CLIs, and anyone that wants to give it a try before buying the Professional Edition or Enterprise Edition.
- The Professional Edition of vmCLIpboard will build commands for any number of virtual machines and servers and have additional features beneficial to anyone dealing with multiple virtual machines on a regular basis.
- The Enterprise Edition of vmCLIpboard will support more VMware CLIs and have even more features for managing many virtual machines on many servers.
A detailed listing of the features in each Edition, along with licensing and pricing, will be posted after vmCLIpboard exits the beta phase so that it is easy to compare the three Editions and determine which one best suits your needs.
Whether you are testing software on different operating systems, juggling many virtual machines, or managing a network of VMware servers (vCenter, ESXi, ESX, Server, etc.), vmCLIpboard will increase automation of those tasks and make your job easier.
